When I was little I always loved heroes who could figure things out. Batman would assemble and interpret clues to solve crimes, or Adam Strange would draw on his knowledge of physics and chemistry to devise a plan to defeat some beast. A hero who could deduce, and use his brain, won bonus points in my book!
Never mind that, in adult retrospect, you can see that these “deductions” are overly simplistic and circumstantial and would never hold up in a real-life court — if the hero figures this is how it happened, then that’s how it happened! 😀
