OK, how did the goblin cop get a photo of Dax from the VR D&D sim? Even if Scooter did put it on Spacebook, it’s not like it was posted under “dickshooter”. At least, one would hope not. (Also, the “Archive” link still doesn’t work!)
Scooter totally put that on Spacebook. Using advanced space algorithms they put Dax’s description in their space computer and that’s the picture that came up. John has a very good memory, so it was a pretty detailed description.
(Working on the archive now, should be all there soon)
An entirely plausible explanation. We’re not even that far away from it today, between face-recognition software and this actual mind reading tech in a few years the cop will just ask you to imagine a picture of the guy that dickshot you and have the perp’s identity pulled up on his ipad#25 in a couple seconds. Creepy enough yet?
Even better – you just think about what you want the next webcomic strip to look like, put on your mind-reading cap, and 15 seconds later you’ve got the strip posted. Artists?! We don’t need no stinkin’ artists! Ha! (Ummm…present company excepted of course, who will of course be forever indispensible)

Lol, I don’t think my imagination can make as good of art as Jess does! 😀
