It’s been a long time coming! She’s been stuck on(/in) the ship for way too long. Also, mass approval on that line of filth 😀

Not often I get the appropriate chance to use alternate cuss words from multiple sources. Sally set that up quite nicely for me.

Sally, being the A.I. that she is, can manipulate the form her holo projection takes I take it. So long as that pauldron remains intact she can become a “light” shield and sword if need be. She can be an extra set of eyes and ears to watch his back as well.

Clearly Scooter has realized the possibility of having an actual talking sword. If he had, there’s no way that projector would have ended up in Dax’s pauldron. There’s definitely limits to the projection abilities, but talking sword falls well within them.

Perhaps Scooter can work on a baseball sized mobile emitter that can hover when Sally doesn’t want to project herself. The micro fusion devices have become much cheaper and the black diamond processors ought to be more than enough processing power to keep her functions working properly. The only other logical step after this is to procure an android body for her.

Well, we’ve already proven that Scooter couldn’t be in charge of an android body….

I think you meant to say “definitely should be” 😀

Ah, hard-light holograms. Yet another technology that never ever ends up having horrific unexpected negative consequences. Except always. 🙁

You mean just every holodeck based episode ever?

There’s an evil sinister genocidal advanced alien race that goes around to primitive species like us, but the don’t nuke the planet from orbit or spread a lethal bioengineered virus. No, they just “gift” us with the knowledge of how to create holodeck technology.
The first week we are cheering them as benevolent heroes.
A week later, Earth’s entire civilization lies in flames and ruins. We never learn.
