I originally designed those security guards at the “roadblock” with simple helmets with visors. It’s only when I came to draw the final pencils that I suddenly saw I could add stubby little antennae with little balls on top — and when I did, it instantly increased their Jetsons Factor ten times over! So of course I stuck with that new decision! 😛

please tell us how you chose to publish this as a web comic, and the pros and cons of web publishing vs. paper publishing.

Very simply: paper publishing means you have to pay for the work to become visible [printing] and to get the work into the eyesight of readers [distribution]. With webcomics both of these things are theoretically free. So there’s a pro.

For me, the big con to web publishing is that drawings on a screen never look as good as they do on the printed page. This is why I still plan to publish SK! in hardcopy someday.

I’ll take a “yay” any time I can get one, but is this one for any particular reason?? 😉
