Hey everybody!
Bad news… we’re not back yet. Jess has been put on 7 days and has a lot less free time for Dax. Rather than come back before we’re ready and end up with another break later in the chapter we’re going to delay a couple more weeks while we get things in order for a smooth run on the rest of this chapter.
Good news! In the interim we’ll run some new images of everyone’s favorite space cats! First up, we have Mange!
I love those felinoids. Sexy, lethal, athletic and surprisingly soft and gentle when they chose to be. I don’t care for the salmon and cream ice cream many of their species seem to like, but hey to each his own.
You don’t like the S&C ice cream?!!! You’re missing out!
ROWR! For a SSCwPhD I’ll bite the head off of a raw Salmon! (Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads, eat them up yum! Now that’s stuck in your head, so there!)
(Apologies to any Fish-people out there who might be offended, it’s just a metaphor. No actual Salmon were harmed in the making of this comment. At least not sentient ones.)

I wonder if anyone has ever listened to the whole 10 hours….
OMG I haven’t heard this in years. I love this song! Did you know that Bill Mumy was half of this group? ie the send them to the cornfield kid on Twilight Zone. Or the kid on Lost in Space. Or you might even know him as Lennier on Babylon 5.
Danger! Danger Will Robinson!
๐
Oh. Emm. Gee. Little Billy Mumy has gotten so OLD! When did that happen? I was already confused by why an alien on Babylon 5 looked so much like Will Robinson. I assumed that the Robinsons had at some point years later run into some aliens, gotten a little friendly, and this was the result.
Trying to unify all your favorite scifi into one universe is always fun!
You have got to see these female felininoids after they have cookies and catnip ice cream. The scratches should heal in a few weeks.
Ha!
No pain, no gain, right? ๐
Just have to get those little plastic tips for their claws, right? No way they’d take offense….
As long as we are going to have lovely Cat Ladies to keep us company during the intermission, I feel you should all take your time and not rush things by restarting too early so that you are fully rested up. ๐
Of course, I mostly love them for their intellectual abilities.
Which brings up the question, should I refer to them as Dr. Mange, Dr. Rabies, and Dr. Parvo, or do they only use the title when they are in an academic or research setting?
Well, you could test your luck and leave the titles off. See if claws come out… ๐
I’m trying to save the claws coming out for a bit later…cough, cough…we’re doing a little scientific experiment to determine if cats arch their back when you stroke their fur the wrong direction.
A little cat scratch fever never hurt anyone! ๐
No, wait, maybe I should have went with this version instead:
Oh no, things are heading down a strange path….
Strange? I see nothing strange… ๐
You don’t tend to see many male felinoids out and about. I suspect there are multiple reasons why. The female to male ratio is similar to Australia with a 7 to 1. The males don’t feel any need to get out much since they have females that see to their every want. Then again it could be the males tend to fight each other for females and territory. This would have younger males doing long range scouting and surveying kind of jobs until they can stake out their own territory. The only other thing that would come to mind is that the males are mostly feral and the females only use them for offspring.
The last one reminds me of the kzinti. What if they got rid of the need for males? Or they’re a maleless race like the Asari?
Wait….the female to male ratio in Australia is 7 to 1??? Holy smokes, I’m movin’ to Australia!! ๐ฎ
(Note to self: may want to double-check that stat before actually moving)
…males are mostly feral and the females only use them for offspring…. so, pretty much like humans then?
Everyone there has an awesome accent too! Downside… everything is venomous and trying to kill you.
Yes Australia is 7/1 female to male and they like American men since we’re the lesser jerk compared to the Aussie male. For females wanting to have a lot of attention, they need to go to Alaska where its a 5/1 male to female ratio.
I would suggest China for lonely women to travel to. The expected number of “excess” men there over the number of available females by 2020 will exceed the ENTIRE population of Australia (!)
And I thought dating was tough here! ๐ฎ
